Lisa Nugent, Campus Principal, Essendon Keilor College

Lisa Nugent is the Campus Principal of the Essendon Campus of Essendon Keilor College. She has been an Assistant Principal for over 10 years. Essendon Keilor College is about further empowering each student to learn, achieve and succeed. We love working with our students as they test their potential and reach for their goals. We train them to appreciate and demonstrate excellence, to love learning and know how to do so with a view to setting them up not just for further study or their first job, but for life.
We do this by providing the safe, respectful and challenging environment that underpins great learning, by inviting students to create and pursue their own opportunities, and by ensuring individual choice and diverse study pathways.
Our professional staff, who so willingly go the extra mile for their students, are highly effective as much more than instructors. They are mentors and coaches, counsellors and advocates. As such they steer students through their studies attending to the whole person; knowing them and caring about their academic progress, personal development and wellbeing.
Our students are also encouraged to develop their leadership potential. They understand that they are first leaders of themselves and then of others. We encourage and respond to student voice, build the self-awareness, confidence and skills students require to lead effectively, and provide the roles and opportunities needed to demonstrate them.
We are proud of both our current students and our alumni. Their continual progress and remarkable achievements are the sum of our efforts and the mark of our success. You’re welcome to join us for that challenging but exciting journey.

Sharon Koning , International Student Coordinator, Frankston High School

Hello, my name is Sharon Koning & I have been the International Student Coordinator at Frankston High School for over 5 years.  I am very proud of the school and have had a long association with the school as my children were also educated here & achieved outstanding academic results.  I have the responsibility to ensure all the International students in our program know that I am here to assist them at all times as I take care of them both at school & in their homestay.  I live near the school so that I can ensure all the students are well cared for & I am on call every day & night to provide safety, care & support our students and their homestays.  I help students with their academic study & visit their homestays regularly to ensure they are happy living there.  I also take students to sign up out of school hours for sport, gym or other appointments as we need to provide as much support as possible for our students living here without families.  I am very active myself & enjoy playing tennis at least twice a week or walk every day to maintain my fitness.

My previous roles have involved student well being, career counselling, teaching & being involved in a variety of positions that ensure students achieve their best at school.  I take pride in ensuring that the International students achieve their best with their study and enjoy getting to know them & their families overseas.  I look forward to meeting & working with you in the future.
